Pegasus Link Constructors is a fully integrated joint venture made up of Fluor and Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc. with over 17 years of experience working together. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team on the I-635 LBJ East project. The project is a $1.7 billion design-build construction project that will improve the capacity and operational efficiency of the portion of I-635 north and east of Dallas, from east of U.S. Highway 75 to I-30.

PLC is currently seeking candidates to fulfill a Construction in Heavy Highway Equipment Mechanic role.

Position Overview:

The Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on the fleet of company owned construction equipment Dozers, Backhoes, Loaders, Excavators, Etc. This position will work under the general supervision of the Equipment Manager and play an important role in ensuring safe and timely repairs of company equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and service of construction equipment, Dozers, Backhoes, Loaders, Excavators, Etc. trucks and trailers.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and repair Electrical, Hydraulic, and Mechanical issues
  • Complete work orders and inspection forms in a timely manner and look for other repairs needed
  • Have general understanding of diesel, gas and small engine repair, as well as welding and fabrication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the repair and maintenance of general construction equipment.
  • Ability to work safely while performing maintenance and repair work
  • Must have own tools
  • Ability to accurately troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair gas and diesel engine systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems for heavy highway equipment
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills

Valid current driver’s license required, CDL preferred
