A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of the Pacific Northwest team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
- You will work closely with a highly experienced team of environmental professionals who come together to understand clients and communicate our value proposition.
- Although dissecting RFQs and RFPs and formatting compliant responses is a critical function of this role, it’s not the only function.
- Actively take part in the development of the capture plan throughout the pursuit process.
- Lead and assist in pursuit, client, and market research (i.e. uncovering client concerns and preferences, analyzing the competition, gathering selection committee information, etc.) to inform the strategy of the pursuit.
- Lead production of marketing and pursuit deliverables, including qualifications packages, proposals, RFI responses, presentations, etc.
- Assist the team translate strategic ideas and win themes into thoughtful and compelling content for the proposal and presentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical team members to help draft and write content that is pursuit- and client-focused.
- Collaborate with graphic designers in the development of marketing materials, proposals, and presentations to leverage visuals to tell a story while preserving Montrose’s visual identity.
- Collaborate with project managers, client managers and marketing and business development team members to add/update opportunity information in the sales databases.
- Support management with maintenance of client management plans.
- Assist with thought leadership/blog articles, communications campaigns, awards submittals, advertisements, and brochures.
- Support marketing and business development team members with additional marketing tasks, such as conference and client event coordination, marketing materials in support of specific clients, pursuits and/or targeted audiences.
- Create and uphold corporate standards for all documents including style guides for various Departments.
- Supports operations through production of external reports, including formatting, binding, CD compilation, and shipping coordination.
- Ensure documents meet editorial and customer specifications and adhere to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
- Select or recommend use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, and illustrations or charts to amplify or clarify publication objectives.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Exercises safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
- Participates in Company’s continuous improvement programs and provides support to team efforts.
- Keeps up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a writing intensive field such as English, Journalism, Communications, or similar discipline, or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
- 1 year of applicable experience in environmental consulting industry preferred.
- Knowledge - General knowledge of basic editorial principles (grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, etc.)
- Technical knowledge of the services provided in assigned area is preferred.
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Solid organization and time/project management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated).
- English language competency.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.).
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to present to supervisors.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee may be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, and is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel. There may be occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from the floor of supplies and materials weighing no more than 30 pounds. The work may involve some bending, standing or walking. Out of office site visits could potentially have more strenuous physical demands.
- Work environment will vary greatly depending on nature of assigned tasks.
- Possible work environments could include normal office working conditions in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to contaminants.
