We are looking for a 1st shift Manufacturing Supervisor to join REI's Toner Operations in our Lawrenceville, GA campus! In this vital role as a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will need to have the technical background to support our fast-paced environment and highly automated Toner manufacturing operations. You will oversee the daily work activities of toner filling and molding operators, troubleshoot equipment, production, and quality problems, and maintain daily production records and progress reports.
Responsibilities include:
  • Model the “safety first” behavior! We expect all employees to ensure that operational procedures and processes are performed safely and provide a safe work environment.
  • Supervise hourly personnel engaged in some or all the following activities: assembly, machine operation and/or fabrication, product preparation, phase-in, phase-out, and quality Inspection.
  • Plan daily operations and make routine adjustments to work assignments, production processes, and/or equipment to meet production schedules and targets while maintaining QCDSE standards.
  • Communicate, train, and enforce adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Recommends changes to daily procedures.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new products into production.
  • Monitor processes and gather data on results.
  • Participate in the investigation of production problems and/or product quality issues.
  • Initiate corrective action, request repairs, or implement countermeasures and track results.
  • Participate in developing ISO procedures, forms, operator reports and visual aids.
  • Maintain records as required by ISO.
  • Review production reports for accuracy.
  • Track and consolidate productivity and quality statistics.
  • Generate productivity and quality reports for management review.
  • Promote employee participation in company-sponsored programs.
  • Guide subordinates in the identification, recommendation and implementation of corporate systems and programs such as QMS, EMS, ISMS, SOX, Kaizen and 5S within the work unit.
  • Respond to accidents and may perform first aid.
  • Conduct initial investigation of accidents, identifies root cause, and submits incident notification to EH&S.
  • Follow procedures for the appropriate reporting and management of safety infractions and/or accidents. May recommend corrective/preventive actions and implement actions determined by the manager.
Qualified candidates will possess:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/technical certification in manufacturing technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory/leadership experience working in a fast-paced continuous production/manufacturing environment required.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations processes and procedures.
  • Experience in molding, assembly and/or powder filling operations preferred.
  • Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Continuous/Process Improvement, Production Planning, Problem-Solving, Technical Troubleshooting, and Strategic Planning.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and engaging leadership skills with experience in team-building/ motivating practices to support company initiatives.
  • Good attention to detail and math skills to calculate yields, variances, material, and labor costs.
  • Intermediate MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) skills, along with experience in writing procedures and creating forms, visual aids, graphs, and presentations.
  • Must be able to work 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday, with some o/t, and work every 3rd Saturday.
