As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will support the design, development and fabrication of space launch vehicles and components to support human spaceflight programs. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

You will be responsible for working with engineering and operations management in creating and maintaining a production schedule. This role will require a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills as you work through large amounts of data to maintain an accurate forecast. Key deliverables will include providing operations, supply chain, and engineering the information required to plan and drive accountability to the business. You will be responsible for ensuring schedule expectations are properly communicated to all stakeholders and developing mitigations during monthly operating plan meetings. Your work will be critical in ensuring the company is marching to the same production goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Master Planner to create a production plan and resource loaded schedule based on master planner milestones, customer need dates and capacity.
  • Evaluate manufacturing schedule and shares forecast assumptions and impacts to critical milestones with various stakeholders.
  • Participate in Production Operations meetings, provides operations dispatch list and drive accountability on scheduling deliverables.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics and program.
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting periodic status of delivery health back to Operations Leadership and Master Planner.
  • Work closely with operations, supply chain and program representatives to ensure proper management of schedule risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Track and drive actions required to meet or exceed schedule forecast and/or recovery.
  • Deconflict priorities and coordinate tie-outs between program leadership, engineering, and operations.
  • Identify critical path to enable proper escalation and decision making.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision-making skills, and the ability to think outside the box.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree BA/BS Production Management, Business Management, Finance, Industrial Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management.
  • 2+ years supply chain experience
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling
  • Experience working with a cross functional team
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired.
  • Excellent written /verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrates understanding and is able to apply continuous improvement terminology/tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
  • Experience in developing or maintaining resource-loaded schedules using MS Project, or other software
  • Excellent project management skill and previous experience facilitating production operations meetings.
  • Experience identifying, managing, and actioning risks, issues, and opportunities
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience in developing or maintaining resource-loaded schedules using Primavera (P6).
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities and management and customer decisions
  • Launch vehicle experience highly desired
  • SQL, Tableau, Python or Power BI skills highly desired
  • Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager)
