Responsibilities:
Responsible for integrating and coordinating all renal transplant activities in Legacy Health System including the creation of planning documents, strategic business and operational planning, goal setting, product development/ business assessment, etc., needed to establish Legacy as a leading regional and national transplant center.- Directs operational activities. Works with employees, management, contractors, and physicians to develop systems and procedures necessary for all transplant activities, and provides information and support required by employees to solve problems and to accomplish the objectives of the Transplant Program.
- Serves as interface with regulatory agencies (CMS, UNOS, JCAHO) regarding transplantation. Ensures regulatory certification. In conjunction with the medical directors, ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical standards of care, practice, and performance.
- Manages transplant related contracts
- Optimizes long-term program profitability through program financial management.
- Identifies pertinent community needs and develops plans to respond to underserved groups with future program development.
- Maintains active communication among medical staff, interdepartmental directors and program and appropriate hospital staff.
- Communicates concerns, operations, practice changes and medical-legal issues to administration, medical staff, and surgery staff.
- Provides annual department budget preparation and administers funds allocated to areas of responsibility. Oversees program unique aspects of finance, accounting, billing, and contracting via interface with respective Legacy departments.
- Provides active interface for Legacy Transplant Services with Donate Life Northwest and the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO), with attendance at appropriate forums and meetings, and inputs to applicable policies and procedures that affect the Legacy program.
Experience:
Strong background in finance. Knowledge of regulatory processes preferred. High degree of organization, ability to work across system to manage complex problems and ability to lead teams or projects. Prefer experience managing contracts.
