As the Manager Trainee – Logistics, you will start on a path to becoming a first line manager and leader of your own department with 20-40 team members. You will report directly to a second line manager referred to as an Area Manager. You will support the short and mid-term success of the function and the plant. You will be exposed to various areas of the operation and be given special assignments and projects to develop your knowledge of the Volvo’s business, lean manufacturing and leadership skills. The organization you will be a part of has approximately 200 employees today.
Main activities and responsibilities for these roles:
- Learn various organizational departments how to apply safety, quality, delivery, and financial targets
- After an initial learning period of approximate 3 months, lead and manage a group of 4-15 team members to further develop your leadership skills.
- Learn about the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS).
- Apply as a standardized way of working, develop the organization, and achieve contribution from all employees.
- Full accountability and ownership while working with your manager to learn the business and development of your leadership skills.
- Midterm road map (6 months-1 year) from developmental role to 1st line leader.
- Ability to fill 1st line leader position in any departmental vacancy in the organization (typically first promotion would be to evening or night shift role).

Candidates are required to have previous leadership experience.
Preferred candidates have a Bachelors Degree in a relevant field and/or demonstrated leadership experience in a work or military environment.
