GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Work involves the supervision and participation in a variety of tasks to maintain and repair county buildings and grounds with an emphasis on HVAC equipment. Individual will also responsible for working on plumbing systems, painting, carpentry and minor electrical repairs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Reviews the HVAC preventive maintenance schedule and adjust where needed.
  • Prepares material lists and orders all supplies necessary to maintain the HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Schedules and updates the Maintenance Manager on HVAC and plumbing repairs, preventive maintenance and costs.
  • Responsible for operating and monitoring the building management system.
  • Keeps accurate records and updates drawings on HVAC equipment and plumbing systems changes.
  • Assists Maintenance Manager on all projects and tasks assigned.
  • Manages projects from start to finish.
  • Trains all Maintenance Workers on the HVAC equipment and plumbing systems.
  • Develops and implement cost saving solutions for all county facilities.
  • Operates power saws, drill press, belt sander, disc sander, drill motors and hydro spray equip.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Director of Maintenance

SUPERVISORY

May supervise work of a crew of skilled, unskilled workers and contractors in the performance of a wide range of tasks as stated above.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Individual has regular exposure to conditions requiring light physical efforts. Individual may be exposed to weather conditions: snow, rain, heat, or cold for prolonged periods of time. Working in a confined space may also be necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A Trade School certificate in HVAC, and three (3) years of related experience. Universal certification in The Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Program required.
  • Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  • Valid Pa state drivers license
  • Must submit to and pass a drug screening and background check per County policy.
