We are seeking a reliable, organized, and diligent Maintenance Technician to join the team at the Copley Square Hotel in Boston. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including general repairs, HVAC maintenance, and more. You should have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong work ethic. Previous maintenance or related experience is preferred, as is experience in the hotel industry. Working knowledge of kitchen and refrigeration equipment, fire protection and life safety systems is also a plus. You should be able to work a 7-day rotational schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Some of your general responsibilities will include performing general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, troubleshooting issues to determine necessary repairs, performing routine maintenance and preventative maintenance programs, and assisting with housekeeping duties as needed. You will also be responsible for maintaining the building exterior and responding to work orders and service calls to guest rooms in a timely manner.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned locations, including plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, basic carpentry, and building systems
• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
• Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair
• Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician (examples: drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures)
• Perform routine maintenance of building systems
• Perform routine preventative maintenance programs, follow established standards and guidelines
• Adherence to all Copley Square Hotel standards
• Work with Director of Engineering and Property Leadership Team to identify and complete all technical projects
• Respond timely to all work orders and service calls
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facility
• Maintain building exterior not serviced by contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting)
• Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous maintenance or related experience, hotel experience preferred
• Able to interact with guest in a pleasant and friendly way
• Working knowledge of fire protection and life safely systems preferred
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
• Prioritization and time management skills
• Able to work 7 day rotational work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
