Job description

Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanics / Welders for a local client in Mifflintown, PA. Candidates who have a background working as a Maintenance Mechanic in an industrial setting are encouraged to apply.

Shifts:

Current openings are on 2nd and 3rd shifts

• 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
• 3rd Shift: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain all plant equipment to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation.
• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager’s direction.
• Perform emergency repairs as needed to any pieces of plant production and/or refrigeration equipment.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Ability to work effectively with third party contractors.
• Must have good communications skills to maintain good working relationships with transportation and production departments.
• Able to use computer for tracking work orders, repairs, parts, and labor allocation.
• Comply with all safety and good Manufacturing practices.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience working in a mechanical role in a manufacturing environment focused on process improvement.
• Analytical thinking skills, problem solving ability required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good computer application skills in a network environment.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs working at heights of 40 feet or more using proper PPE.

Work Environment:

• Wet environment.
• Extreme temperature exposure.
• Strong odors.
