Responsibilities & Qualifications
In this role, you can expect to:
- Inspect facility, grounds, equipment, and furniture to identify maintenance needs
- Use trade knowledge and tools to perform physical maintenance and repair on and within the facility
- Work with staff and vendors to evaluate and schedule third party maintenance to maximize efficient use of resources
- Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial plumbing, electrical wiring, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
- Maintain records of maintenance work and facility project statuses.
This position requires in-state travel on an occasional basis and may work in excess of 40 hours per week.
The Senior position will also be expected to:
- Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair energy management, electrical, HVAC, auxiliary, and power systems and commercial kitchen equipment
- Evaluate and approve maintenance requests to ensure building and space is maintained in good repair and resources are allocated efficiently
- Monitor and evaluate the work of third-party vendors and internal maintenance staff
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff to resolve service issues
- Research and respond to requests for information regarding construction and engineering projects for the facility
Provide advanced maintenance expertise to staff and management, by:
- Training junior staff
- Designing, implementing, documenting, and refining departmental procedures
- Assisting management in coordinating departmental workflow, staff, and resources
- Serving as a subject matter expert on projects
The successful candidate must have:
- High school diploma or equivalent education, training, or experience
- At least two years’ experience or equivalent education, training and experience for Maintenance Technician.
- At least five years’ experience or equivalent education, training and experience for Senior Maintenance Technician.
It would be great to also have:
- Ability and willingness to remain on-call
- Accredited trade or technical school certificate in HVAC preferred (for Senior position)
- Active Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Registered Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician license preferred (for Senior position)
