Job Description

The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains production equipment, troubleshoots equipment failures, and performs routine and emergency mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and electrical maintenance. In addition, he or she helps install new equipment and fabricates new equipment or supplemental pieces when needed.

The ideal candidate has at 18-36 months of experience in mechanical systems maintenance for a high-speed production line. Candidates must have experience with high-speed packaging equipment and knowledge and advanced skills in pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, bearing, chains and belting, conveying systems, valves, basic blueprint reading, and mechanical troubleshooting. We are looking for a team player who can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, is physically able to perform the duties of the job (move heavy equipment/machinery, climb ladders, perform repetitive motions, walk/stand, etc.), has strong communication and customer service skills.

Hours:
3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 9pm-6:00am

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoots failures and repairs and maintains complex production equipment
• Ensures machinery operates efficiently and effectively to meet productivity requirements
• Fabricates new equipment or supplemental pieces when needed
• Performs basic maintenance and upkeep of facilities, grounds, and buildings
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
• Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
• Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 18-36 Month of progressive and relevant experience
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and machine shop skills
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with co-workers, vendors, and others
• Able to work independently on projects and as a member of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Highly professional and dependable
• Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Available for emergency on-call
• Basic computer and internet skills
