Facilities Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY

Angels’ Place provides homes and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our homes are located in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties. We are currently accepting applications for a maintenance coordinator.

In partnership with our home maintenance supervisor, the candidate will perform maintenance and repairs on twenty one homes and our headquarters office space.

Willingness to perform manual labor (DIY) is required. Examples of work includes:

• Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry repairs
• Installation of sump pumps and/or garbage disposals
• Installation of washers, dryers, ovens, refrigerators
• Replace furnace filters
• Repair wood decks
• Trimming of trees and other landscaping needs
• Patching and painting of walls
• Willingness to learn basic appliance repairs
• Ability to maintain relationships and negotiate with heating and cooling, lawn and snow, electrical, home inspection, and other contractors is required.
• Ability to maintain vehicle maintenance logs, schedule routine maintenance, and document expenses is required.
• Knowledge of all home systems

Other requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License, a good driving record, and dependable transportation (you will be reimbursed for business mileage)
• Must have computer skills to maintain personal email and calendar, research of products and solutions, schedule appointments and track personal time, maintain logs, etc.
• Candidate will be required to pass a background check, drug screen and obtain a negative TB Test
• COVID-19 Vaccine.
