Maintenance of Traffic Supervisor -

Sunshine Staffing is currently seeking a Highway Maintenance Supervisor to supervise inmates working on roadways and highways.

This position manages highway maintenance activities at a regional maintenance facility located in Chiefland, Florida. This position requires the applicant to have the training, skills, and ability to supervise work release inmates.

Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Employees in this position will supervise inmates working on the State Highway system.
• Operate various heavy equipment associated with State Highway department operations
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful candidate shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a State certified Correctional Officer.
• Must be certified as a Correctional Officer in Florida with an active certification in good standing.
• Possess a valid Class B Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
• Have a minimum of one (1) year experience driving a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to obtain an Advanced Level Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
• Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test and physical examination.
• Must satisfactorily pass a background investigation and fingerprinting, which includes no felony convictions; no misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; no misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence.
• Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
• Ability to communicate via cellular phone while supervising work release inmates.
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm.
• Work Location: Chiefland, Florida

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
