The SpringHill Suites Hershey Near the Park is looking for a full-time Maintenance Manager. Experience in general carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical work is required. HVAC certification helpful, but not required. Must be available to work a flexible schedule of 1st & 2nd shifts and must be available to work weekends and holidays including ocassional on-call. Must have a valid PA drivers license and reliable transportation.

POSITION SUMMARY - To maintain the entire hotel facility, including physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, kitchen and laundry equipment, swimming pool, energy conservation and PM equipment. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel. Must manage all renovations and special projects. Provide training to all maintenance staff as required in the operation and maintenance of all equipment and facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Conducts walk-through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel and equipment.

· Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, back of the house spaces and ground assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovations projects to offices, and employee work areas.

· Hires, trains, supervises, and disciplines department staff and all other staff under direction of property operations, such as painters and ground keepers.

· Adheres to all corporate required purchasing policies and controls.

· Maintains effective energy management and preventive maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.

· Informs the general manager and hotel department heads on a regular basis, regarding specific and overall condition of the building structure(s).

· Assumes the responsibility of attending to the job when scheduled.

· Assumes the responsibility to comply with the hotel rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.

· Inspects and maintains cleaning equipment.

· Exercises caution and judgment when pouring, mixing, and/or using cleaning chemicals.

· Approves weekly time records and checks for accuracy.

· Assists with special projects.

· Functions as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled.

· Performs all other duties at the request of the General Manager.

· Regular attendance is necessary to complete the Essential Functions

EDUCATION/TRAINING - Basic academic education (high school diploma or equivalent) plus a trade school.

EXPERIENCE - Four to six years experience in management required. Hands on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, HVAC, drywall repair, mechanical, painting, pool maintenance, blueprint reading and basic electrical and plumbing schematics required.
