Job Summary
The Mail Carrier is responsible for retrieving, sorting, delivering, metering, and preparing USPS and campus mail in an efficient and reliable manner in support of the day-to-day operations of the College. This position is often a spokesperson for the Mail Center, having frequent interaction with employees across campus, and as such must be customer service oriented and knowledgeable in regard to all services offered. In addition, the Mail Carrier will cross-train to work in the Copy Center and Lettershop, as needed. This position requires frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of boxes weighing up to 70 pounds within the Mail Center and for delivery across campus.
Hourly rate for this position is $19.00/per hour (This role is eligible for overtime)

Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical computations
- Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and building occupants
- Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team with minimum supervision
- Applicants must be well organized with good eye/hand coordination
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Computer and typing skills strongly desired to help log packages, assist customers at the mail center, or emailing updates on the status of a package/item.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
- Previous cashiering and proven track record for providing superior customer service in fast-paced environment.
- A pre-employment physical, background + motor vehicle record check, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to comply with the College’s current Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred:
- Mid-volume copier/printers and mailing equipment preferred.
Standard Work Days and Hours
- Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- The role may be required to work overtime and holidays, in addition to working major college events and weekends.
