DPI Staffing is currently seeking a qualified candidate for an open Machine Operator position for one of the largest, diversified manufacturers and suppliers of light to medium construction equipment, power generators, and lighting located in Boise.

Job Description: This position operates numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts by performing the following duties:

1. Assists in the operation of fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, laser, and saw
2. Hammers & chips metal workpieces from metal sheets
3. Grinds/sands metal workpieces to remove imperfections
4. Identify workpieces, tag and load onto appropriate cart
5. Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications
6. Confers with department lead or supervisor to resolve fabrication problems
7. Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece
8. Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, laser, and saw
9. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
10. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut or bend, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
11. Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance fabricating, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
12. Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
13. Safely operate hoist
14. Safely operate lift table
15. Safely operate a forklift upon company certification
16. Pay careful attention and use care when handling machinery and equipment
17. Performs other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a Metals Fabrication

Certificate from a technical college or trade school; or one to three months related

experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

1. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize

similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

1. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
2. Ability to perform basic addition and subtraction
3. Demonstrates ability to measure in feet, inches, and thousandths using tape measures and precision tools.
4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in

written, verbal or diagram form.

1. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
2. Ability to operate hand tools & air powered tools.
3. Ability to operate fabrication equipment i.e. brake, shear, laser, rollers, punch and saws.
4. Ability to operate hoist.

Computer Skills:
1. Ability to use several programs, make modifications when required.

6. Employee may be exposed to various chemicals such as metal working fluid, brake fluid, parts washer, cleaners, etc.

Schedule:
Swing Shift: $21.50/hr

Monday - Thursday

3pm – 1:30am
