Position Summary: Estimator / Project Coordinator

This position is responsible for the estimation for quotations, design and documentation of IT, Datacom, Audio Visual, Security and other low voltage. Also responsible for coordination of deployment and scheduling of staff throughout the United States and Canada.

In order to fulfill job requirements candidate must have details knowledge of low voltage and structured cabling experience. In additional a strong knowledge of fiber and copper management system, i.e. Ladder Rack & Fiber Trays. Strong understand of Security Cage builds and data cabinets racks and cabinets installation.

Candidates MUST have strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate goals, strategies and clarifications, when necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide estimates and formal quotations for data/communications and other low voltage solutions to the customers.
• Provide expert knowledge, management oversight for telecommunications, IT and low voltage systems for major projects.
• Develop competitive proposals for LOE (Level of Effort) based on SoW (Scope of Work) proposed by clients.
• Perform site visits for documentation and cost estimating of the existing systems and building conditions.
• Coordinate SoW, design layout and drawings with the client and other disciplines.
• Perform telecommunications, IT and low voltage systems analysis and develop appropriate system concepts and layouts.
• Layout and design telecommunications systems, as well as, voice, data, structured cabling (horizontal and vertical) and other low voltage systems.
• Create As-Built documentation after implementation of work.
• Oversee projects throughout project life-cycle working with senior management, client and contractors and
• Mentor and train other staff members.
• Visit construction sites to inspect work in progress or completed.
• Prepare As-Built Documentation for client turn-over & acceptance.
• Ensure & maintain quality control performance adhering to standards established by the Client.
• Perform walk-throughs on job sites to gain understanding of environment and implementation requirements
• Travel to customer and strategic partner site to perform technical presentations when required.
• Build strategic working relationships with subcontractors/Technical Partners to accomplish goals and objectives.
• Extensive knowledge of voice and data systems including: cat5e, cat6, MM & SM fiber Ladder Rack Fiber Trays.
• Experience with running commercial & corporate structured cabling projects.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and have strong typing abilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Structured Cabling industry.
• At least 2+ years’ experience in a Project or Estimator role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
