Job Description:
A well-organized team member with hands-on presence to be a part of a logistics operation that strives to increase customer satisfaction, improve efficiency and streamline operations. Supports, initiates and strives for operational excellence best practices. Will be responsible for supporting and developing, documenting, and implementing standard procedures to ensure internal and external customer requirements are met or exceeded.
Key Accountabilities shall include:

Support daily logistics activities for domestic and international project outbound shipments.

Collaborate with freight forwarders and carriers to solve daily operational issues effectively and timely.
-
Seek and request quotes for continuous cost effective freight for required shipments.
-
Collect, prepare and submit data required to request and schedule shipments.
-
Prepare and submit all shipping documents, including import/export documents, in collaboration with logistical carriers and customs brokers.
-
Work with Logistics Manager and Business management to ensure on-time outbound shipments and deliveries.
-
Develop and support methods of measuring and reporting operational effectiveness.

Work closely with Supply Chain team to identify and develop opportunities for continuous improvement.
-
Collect and analyze transportation data using different Microsoft programs to assist operations in problem identification and resolution.

Work closely with Shipping Team to identify and develop opportunities for continuous improvement.
-
Support Audit & Pay Service provider on system and processes.
-
Identify and implement system and process improvements within Shipping & Logistics network.
-
Draft work instructions, business process documents and standard operating procedures.

Support global stakeholders with transportation related requests and wit with carries partners on their execution.

Support in the investigation of internal/external customer feedback to find the root causes and advise appropriate solution to resolve them.

Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education
-
Minimum level of expertise using Microsoft Office Tools, including Word and Excel
-
Experience in selecting and facilitating quotes from appropriate service providers
-
Familiarity with Trade Terms, Trade Automation and ERP Systems
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
-
Bachelor's degree, preferable in Logistics, Business, or related field
-
5-8 years of Logistics experience demonstrating an understanding of Logistics practices and procedures

Advanced level expertise using Microsoft Office Tools, including Word and Excel

Strong organizational skills

Strong Communication, collaboration and negotiating skills

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $ 98,726.00, to $148,088.00. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:

Summary Pay Range:
$98,726.00 - $177,706.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
