Job Summary:
This is an instructional position responsible for the guidance, direction, and educational leadership of students enrolled in LiFT University's Transition Program. The program manager is expected to understand and demonstrate the use of curriculum, instruction, academic and behavioral accommodations, assessments, and improvement models to maximize the academic and social/emotional achievements for all students; work collaboratively to ensure a working and learning climate for all students that is safe, secure, and respectful of diversity.
Minimum Requirements:
Education, Experience and/or Knowledge:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- 2 years experience working with neuro-diverse high school students or young adults in a post secondary setting.
- Experience in curriculum development and accommodations for special education students.
- Experience with and implementation of Support Plans preferred.
- Experience in collecting, monitoring and tracking student achievement data.
- Knowledge of various educational disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of character education/social skills development.
- Knowledge of Life Skills Curriculum.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- A valid Florida Drivers License is required with an acceptable driving record.
- Successful Completion of a State and Federal FDLE Level 2 Background Screening.
- Must attain a CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervisory Responsibilities;
The Program Manager’s supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to the performance, planning, intervention strategies, instruction, safety, and educational and behavioral achievements for their students during school hours and during extracurricular activities.
Instructional Responsibilities;
- Will conduct classroom instruction 5 days per week.
- Uses integrative and thematic lessons that are congruent with the Adult Education Assessment.
- Create a Scope and Sequence for each course taught. Due August 1st, 2023.
- Design lesson plans and utilize a variety of instructional methodologies to address student learning deficits on a daily basis, to promote student engagement in learning all the time through such strategies as active learning, hands-on application, teacher-student and student-student conversations about learning.
- Identify long-range goals and specific objectives.
- Plan instruction using a variety of techniques and materials for individualized and group instruction.
- Prepare, administer, and grade weekly assessments and record results.
- Utilize appropriate technology and software to support instruction.
- Ensure that LiFT Support Plan goals are fully implemented as applicable.
- In conjunction with the Director of LiFT University Transition Program, the Program Manager will participate in the eligibility determination process by assessing the student’s educational, social, and behavioral needs.
Program, Student, and Behavioral Management;
- Uses appropriate classroom management techniques to meet the needs of the student and the group.
- Encourage personal growth: recognize their rights and responsibilities.
- Develop the students understanding of cause and effect/actions and consequences.
- Train in the handling finances, making purchases and meeting financial obligations and other math skills.
- Train in routine housekeeping tasks, meal preparations, dressing, personal hygiene, and other areas of daily living including proper use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices, appliances, home safety, first aid, and emergency procedures.
- Help students build vocabulary, develop effective language expression, and teach listening.
- In conjunction with the Director of LiFT University Transition Program, manage and implement various behavioral management strategies and utilize adaptive equipment as provided.
- In conjunction with the ITSO, Program Managers will establish and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment. Program Managers will participate in and train students on emergency procedures.
- Participates in on-going student supervision in the classroom.
Family and Community Relations;
- Holds conferences with students, parents, the Director of LiFT University Transition Program and/or supportive personnel regarding the students’ academic and social development.
- Recognizes parent and family contributions are vital to educational and behavioral goal achievements.
- Program Manager will participate in the expansion and growth of LiFT inc. by allowing parent tours, donor tours and media relations to view their classrooms during classroom instructional time frames.
- Program Manager may be asked to participate in community and media relations by attending and/or speaking at events.
Professional Development;
- Program Manager will participate in all in-service and professional development activities offered by LiFT Inc. Online and off-campus opportunities may become available.
- Program Manager will ensure that Certification and continuing educational requirements are monitored and met.
- Completes mandatory reading on relevant topics as assigned.
- Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification
Terms of Employment:
- Employment with LiFT Inc. is At Will
- Work Basis: Monday through Friday 40 hours/week. Days and Hours may vary.
- Regular attendance; 100% onsite; strict adherence to work schedule.
- Professional dress attire.
- Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
- Evening and Saturday hours as required due to activities, meetings, and events.
- Some driving as required.
- Participates on committees as needed.
- Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with LiFT’s approved compensation plan.
- Performance Evaluations conducted annually.

Employee must be able to move quickly from place to place on occasion over smooth to uneven surfaces on the (playground or on grass. Walk through classroom and be able to maneuver tight spaces, e.g. between desks. When dealing with students it may entail kneeling, squatting, stooping and bending on an occasional to frequent basis on a given day.
