PrimeCare Medical Inc. is currently seeking a hardworking
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Schaffner Youth Center in Steelton, PA. We currently are offering a
$5,000 sign on bonus for full time!
Current Openings:
Full time evening shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)
Per Diem
The Herbert Schaffner Youth Center is a multiservice site that includes detention and shelter services for males and females between the ages of 12 and 21. The center has 24 secure beds and shelter beds. The Herbert Schaffner Youth Center offers various mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, and counseling. It provides on-site year-round educational services. The center also has education programming and health and medical services.
Responsibilities include:
- Full medical intake for all new arrivals to the center
- Maintaining security of all medical records
- Ensuring strict compliance to all applicable pharmacy regulations
- Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws
- Conducting sick call for students and provide treatment for selected minor illnesses and injuries.
- Medication administration
- Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of nursing care
- Record, retrieve and file medical information in the student's medical record
- Assists PrimeCare Medical Physicians during scheduled medical appointments
- Assists the PrimeCare Medical Dentist with exams and minor dental care
Requirements:
- Comfortable as the only nurse in the building
- Active LPN license in Pennsylvania
- Current AHA Healthcare CPR
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong patient assessment skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrate clinical competency
- Ability to pass background check for child and sexual abuse
- Pass a drug screening
