Writing Samples Required

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide written analysis of legal matters with an emphasis on constitutional and administrative issues pertinent to education
- Identify and monitor federal and state adjudications
- Assist in developing and delivering effective presentations and training
- Proactively communicate status of work projects and complete work in a timely manner
- Perform other duties as required
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
- Sound independent judgment and professional integrity
- Collaborative, with excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills
- Ability to listen well and accurately define and deliver on project objectives.
- Ability to take complex legal topics and convey them in understandable copy.
- Legal analytical and problem-solving skills essential
- Ability to monitor, manage, and resolve multiple, concurrent matters
- Proficient in MS Office and legal databases/tools
- Ability to innovate improvements to existing legal monitoring, tools, and processes
- Ability to accurately prioritize and promptly respond to issues and requests
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- 5+ years’ experience in active legal practice or a combination of additional education and relevant work experience
- Significant constitutional and/or administrative law knowledge gained through employment experience or scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Litigation experience
- Moot Court, Law Review, judicial clerk, government attorney, and/or legal constitutional scholar
- Knowledge of all phases of legislative, executive, and judiciary processes
- Understanding of higher education legal issues, federal higher education policy, and industry trends
Working Conditions
- Travel may occur up to 10% of the time. Work on nights and weekends may be necessary to complete the tasks of this position.
