**This recruitment is to fill 10 (ten) project positions expected to last approximately two years or through project completion.**

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Development Team is hiring a team of Learning Delivery Professionals to engage in the delivery of approved curriculum for the training of all state and other employees eligible for specified foundational diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) training. In this role, you will support the mission of the organization by ensuring involved employees from across the enterprise are provided with opportunities for evidence-based learning opportunities that will aid in the development necessary to perform their roles effectively and contribute an inclusive and respectful work environment.

We are seeking candidates with substantial knowledge and experience in training individuals on social justice concepts to include: institutional racism, anti-racism, and systemic inequality. Candidates should have experience with group facilitation and advance learning principles. The ideal candidates will also possess a demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion principles, as well as a commitment to implementation and integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to facilitate a respectful and inclusive work environment.

The Workforce Support and Development Division (WSD) helps agencies create a healthy work culture by acting as a central source for agencies to receive assistance, guidance, and services in finding talent, job/career development, and employee wellbeing. The mission of WSD is to help attract and retain a highly motivated, engaged, and skilled workforce. WSD embeds a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) lens into all of our work, grounding our services in an anti-racist and intersectional equity lens. The Workforce Learning and Performance (WLP) provides high-quality, cost-effective learning solutions for talent development in the public sector. The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Development Team is responsible for delivering a foundational learning solution for the workforce.

Duties

Some of what you will enjoy doing:

Deliver professional level learning to meet the development and performance needs of the enterprise in diversity, equity and inclusion competency. This includes various learning modalities with measurable results.


  • Apply evidence-based learning approaches to curricula delivery including but not limited to adult learning theory, social learning theory, and neuroscience.
  • Demonstrate effective instructional and facilitation strategies, use of course materials, and assessment techniques for learning effectiveness.
  • Apply knowledge of diversity, equity and inclusion competencies to improve targeted areas of learning to meet enterprise customer, consumer, and business partner needs.
  • Deliver foundational DEI curriculum with fidelity to the materials, objectives, and learning to performance outcomes.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment for a diverse audience of learners from different professional levels and environments across the enterprise of Washington State government.
  • Conduct effective assessment of learner knowledge, skill, and development.

Apply continuous learning and growth in DEI related fields by constantly improving knowledge base on the relevant DEI topics.
  • Perform structural continuing education on a variety of DEI topics
  • Identify and perform professional development activities that increase knowledge, skills, and abilities in group facilitation and adult instruction.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, with a focus on education with a specialty in DEI related fields: African American Studies, Sociology, ethnic studies, or related from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or a foreign equivalent.
OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on education with a specialty in DEI related fields: African American Studies, Sociology, ethnic studies or related AND at least two (2) years of equivalent applicable experience (experience needs to be in addition to what is listed below in the areas of instructional delivery, facilitative instruction, instructor development, and/or supervision of employees).
OR
  • A combination of previously listed related education and equivalent applicable experience to equal four (4) years (experience needs to be in addition to what is listed below in the areas of instructional delivery, facilitative instruction, instructor development, and/or supervision of employees).

AND
  • At least two (2) years of instructional delivery to adults in measurable knowledge and skill development including instructing alone and with other instructors.
  • One (1) year of facilitative instruction and blended learning experience (may be concurrent with instructional experience).
  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion competencies and commitment to implementation and integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices to facilitate a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with applying learning principles in professional or educational environments.
  • Able to consistently demonstrate the following behaviors:
    • Accepts a high level of responsibility and accountability
    • Reliability in attendance and punctuality; flexibility with work schedule
    • Dedication to professionalism and customer service to all stakeholders
    • Demonstrate competence to execute expert level organizational skills

  • Able to proactively take initiative to resolve issues and to obtain relevant resources and training as needed

  • Additional experience instructing and facilitating adults in a variety of learning modalities and settings.
