MISSION

This position contributes to the success of the California Yacht Club (“Club”) by creating positive experiences for every member, guest and co-worker in providing a safe, clean, appealing, welcoming and well maintained facility and grounds. This position is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the entire property or multiple properties as assigned. This includes aesthetics and all mechanical equipment. This position requires a high degree of mechanical expertise and engineering experience..

KEY RESULTS AND TASKS

  • Efficiently monitor Staff, ensuring high productivity and alignment with company values, goals, and culture:

Manage, model, set the tone, and guide employees in the company’s culture, values, policy, and service expectations; promote Company and department initiatives, policy, and procedures in a positive and motivational manner.

  • Ensure employees’ appearance is neat and professional (proper uniform and nametag as required) and demeanor is respectful and professional at all times.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC, boilers, lighting, electrical, fire /life/safety, plumbing, roofs and doors.
  • Responds to service calls and resolves member and building needs.
  • Meet and oversee subcontractors and tenant subcontractors to ensure they follow building standards as assigned.
  • Inspect tools daily to ensure proper working condition; remove all broken or inoperable equipment and report to Facilities Director immediately.
  • Performs janitorial work when assistance is needed.
  • Ensure graffiti is removed as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours.
  • Paint property and parking lot accessories as assigned.
  • Report any broken equipment, hazards, and unusual activity you come across throughout the day to your supervisor.
  • Report to Facilities and Maintenance Manager or Dock Master any items or issues that require attention.
  • Return all equipment to the Shop at the end of the day. Do not leave tools out.
  • Report any “accidents” in the pool to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager or Dock Master so the pool can be treated.
  • Tape off pool and post closure.
  • Place sandbags at the snack bar entrance at the lower level when rain is expected.
  • Report any misconduct of Members, guests or crew taking place in the harbor area or Club grounds.
  • Use handheld radios to keep in communication with the Dock Office and Front Desk.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Manager or Dock Master.
  • Assist with the implementation and accountability of all safety programs.
  • Help to create a sense of cooperation and teamwork within the department and among other departments.
  • Maintain high-level staff morale.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Complete and maintain all required Facilities paperwork in a timely, organized and legible manner.
  • Follow all company and department policies and procedures.

Education, licenses, & certification:

Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Required: Current California Driver’s License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
Required: 3 years of experience in the same or similar positions in the Hospitality industry
Ideal: CPO Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
