Founded in 2022, we are funded by a $97 million grant from the North Carolina General Assembly. The Role
The Project Kitty Hawk (PKH) Launch Manager will serve a critical role within the organization, responsible for the coordination of multiple partners and many moving components, in order to ensure the successful delivery of academic programs with partner institutions. The Launch Manager will have oversight over the entire launch process and will serve the organization with professionalism, attention to detail, and impeccable communication and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of academic programs on behalf of PKH partner Institutions, managing the implementation process from contractual obligation to product launch.
  • Coordinate, manage, and facilitate multiple PKH partner organizations and institution partners and their deliverables to ensure a smooth handoff between responsible parties, tracking major milestones and deliverables throughout the process and providing routine updates to many stakeholders.
  • Set targets and expectations related to the launch of a new program and hold individuals accountable for delivering on them.
  • Surface risks related to launch to the appropriate leadership and develop strategies for mitigating the risks to ensure successful and timely delivery of the product.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple PKH departments and leaders including market research, financial, account management, partnership management, and the project management office, among others, and drive them to results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with internal PKH departments, PKH partner organizations, and PKH partner institutions.
  • Proactively deliver regular communications to key stakeholders related to the launch of new academic programs to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for PKH partner institutions.
  • Proactive and regular engagement and collaboration with business development and account management teams to support smooth transitions among work hand-offs.
  • Conduct post-launch retrospectives with large groups of stakeholders to surface opportunities for process improvement. Develop and implement modifications to enhance the process based on learnings.
  • Act as the institution partner advocate within PKH, acting in a way that serves their needs and interests while balancing the broader needs and capacity of PKH and partner organizations.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years professional experience in launch management, project management, implementation management, or a similar discipline
  • 2+ years of professional experience in the higher education industry
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately to a vast stakeholder group including, executive leadership, institution leadership, technology teams, faculty, student success teams, and others.
  • Ability to look strategically across the organization, while simultaneously digging into the details
  • Willing and able to travel, especially in North Carolina, to visit institution partners.
  • An empathetic approach to your work, understanding that the key to a successful launch will lay as much with the personal relationships that you build as it will with the project plan you develop.
  • A team-oriented mentality, willing to dig into the work ahead and remaining committed to the success of the whole.
  • Ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders without direct reporting authority

This position is based in North Carolina. Relocation expenses have not been budgeted for this role.
