Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Materials Test Technician. This position is based at our Euclid, OH facility.


The expected annual salary range for this role is $48750.03 - $71500.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program and is overtime eligible.

The Materials Test Technician is responsible for conducting materials testing in support of Eaton-Euclid manufacturing and Eaton Aerospace Labs' external sales. This role will prepare, analyze and document metallurgical and other lab tests. This position will also be responsible for maintaining test equipment, monitoring test supplies and maintaining NADCAP compliance to test codes.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare metallographic specimens (sectioning, mounting and polishing).
  • Evaluate specimens per test procedures (i.e., case depth, IGA, grain size, weld evaluation, etc).
  • Perform hardness testing (Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, Knoop).
  • Assist with mechanical testing and chemical analysis as needed.
  • Perform other lab work/tasks if necessary.
  • Document test results and prepare test reports.
  • Help maintain lab equipment and environment.
  • Communicate (both orally and written) with supervision and sales in a precise, logical, informative and tactful manner.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more (2+) years in a laboratory or testing setting.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or test certification from an accredited institution.
  • Direct experience in metallography.
