Job Description
Responsibilities:
Coordinates between laboratory staff and contracted vendor sales representatives to acquire laboratory supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Works with laboratory members to ascertain items needed for laboratory function.
Performs research across multiple vendors to determine the most suitable and cost-effective solutions for requested laboratory supplies and equipment.
Works within both AggieBuy system and with third-party vendors to make purchases, submitting all relevant tax-exemption paperwork.
Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment, supplies, and chemicals along with detailed purchase information.
Assists laboratory members with miscellaneous tasks; for example, moving plants to and from greenhouses and other research activities.
Handles accounting responsibilities in Concur for charges made to laboratory pay card
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of related experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. Ability to identify, assess, and solve problems.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
