Administratively – Lab Manager / Design Office Manager

To perform chemical and physical analyses and tests required for research, development, or quality control of processes or products and to provide assistance to the relevant Development or Research Engineer.

• Conduct laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials using techniques such as (sample preparation, steel and ceramic mechanical and chemical testing, including but not limited to microscopy, abrasion, oxidation of materials, and ceramic refractories).
• Perform routine analyses to check accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of test data.
• Record data and prepares simple charts or graphs.
• Accurately follow work instructions along with established operating procedures and test methods.

• Maintain and clean laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Provide and maintain safe work environment by participating in safety programs, committees, or teams and by conducting laboratory/plant safety audits.

• Provide technical support or assistance to engineers

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates Degree or related work experience preferred.
• High School Matriculation
• Technical Diploma

If no Associates Degree/ Technical Diploma, >3 years related laboratory experience

Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures.

Knowledge of relevant design/ drawing software tools

Work is completed 100% inside Vesuvius Facility

Exposure to Chemicals, Toxic Materials, and Equipment

Work is completed 100% in design office environment
