SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Lab Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with all daily lab functions from crush to bottle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the supervision of Lab manager perform all bottling QC, chemical and microbiological analyses in a timely manner
• Sample, analyze and track: RS, ML, VA, alcohols, TA, pH, nopa, ammonia, FSO2, DO, turbidity, micro QC.
• Timely and accurate data entry into lab logbooks, NAV and excel spreadsheets retained in company folders
• Complete daily bottling lab QC report
• Assist in calibrating and maintaining lab instrumentation
• Tank & barrel sampling
• Support cellar and bottling functions as needed
• Perform benchtop trials and create blends as requested by winemaking teams
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Ensure safety at all times

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Enology, Chemistry or equivalent in experience
• Good communication skills – written and verbal
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
• Good analytical and math skills required
• Ability to multi-task
• Good attention to detail
• Must be a team player
• Ability to work overtime and weekend work as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly required to talk and hear through other distracting noises.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel and crouch. Climb stairs and ladders.
• Sense of smell required.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to lift items above the head.
• Manual dexterity required to adjust small cellar fittings.

Salary range for the position is $20.00 $22.50 (DOE)
