Lab Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employees will be trained to all applicable company standards as identified on the company training matrix TR-401

  • Participate with the APQP process during product, tooling and equipment design reviews as related to product validation testing.
  • Ability to read drawings or other technical standards to insure compliance to customer requirements.
  • Responsible for maintain the gauge calibration system, including adding new requirements and report the status of completion.
  • Prepare product for testing, conduct the required testing and generate an accurate report of the testing results.
  • Participate in the selection of additional required lab test equipment.
  • Perform daily gauging requirements, part weight studies or other applicable measurements and enter data into the Plex system as required.
  • Maintain the color plaque library.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational skill to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload
  • Basic knowledge of lab equipment i.e., micrometers, calipers, force testers, gloss meter, color plaques, moisture analyzer, McBeth Lighting, Height gauges and other common test equipment.
  • Technical Degree or 1-2 years of Quality related experience or other field in molding or assembly processes.
  • Good interpersonal skills for effective communication and team participation.
  • Knowledge of statistics
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and other windows bases software
  • Efficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, etc.

Competency Requirements: -

  • 3 years minimum experience in a quality or engineering role
  • Competent use of measurement equipment in a repeatable manner
  • Good data recording skills manually and in MS Excel .

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Lab Technician reports to the Quality Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.65 - $20.64 per hour
