Your Impact:


As a n Entry Level Geologist, you’ll work with our growing geotechnical practice consisting of over 30 geotechnical engineers in Northwest in 5 offices and over 150 geotechnical engineers in over 15 offices in North America supporting a wide variety of civil infrastructure projects.

In your role you’ll work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team while you share your technical knowledge across geographical boundaries to foster innovative project solutions while you work in locations both within the USA and around the world supporting projects small and large while you work with and under the supervision of some of the highest-quality geotechnical engineers in the United States.

As a Geologist, you’ll participate in field assignments that will include:

  • Observe geotechnical explorations including but not limited to soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing,

  • Collect and classify soil and rock samples from the field,

  • Perform geologic site reconnaissance,

  • Observe installation of geotechnical instrumentation and collect readings,

  • Conduct geotechnical groundwater monitoring,

  • Inspect construction of geotechnical structures including but not limited to earth retaining structures, deep foundations, dams, tunnels, and shallow foundations,

  • Prepare daily field reports,

  • Support geotechnical engineers to prepare boring logs, laboratory testing program, and geotechnical data report.

  • Assist geotechnical engineers with other duties as assigned by supervisor

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • 0-5 years of experience

  • BS in Geology or Engineering Geology

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Current 40-hours OSAH HAZWOPER Certification or will be obtained upon hire.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in soil logging

  • Experience in geotechnical field explorations

  • Experience in geologic interpretation of subsurface soils and rocks.

  • Knowledge in Puget Sound geology

  • Knowledge in soil classifications standards

  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions

Typical salary range for this position is $54,400 to $95,100 for an Entry level role and $65,700 - $114,900 for an Intermediate level. and is commensurate with experience relative to the position. For “remote” positions, salary to be offered is geographic dependent.
