My client a major retail company is looking for someone to join their team. This would be a temp-hire opportunity.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

· Prepare, file and pay all Sales and Use Tax returns and payments for US divisions managing multiple / variable tax rates for localities.

· Research and make final taxability decisions related to use tax self-assessment.

· Research and determine the need for business licenses for all US locations (Stores and Non-Stores).

· Research, notify business partners and resolve all notices received regarding business license fees or Sales and Use Tax Returns.

· Apply for new and renewal licenses and ensure licenses are maintained and payments are processed accordingly.

· Reconcile General Ledger liability and research and resolve all variances.

· Provide State & Local Auditors with reporting, sales detail, and invoices to address requirements.

· Complete analysis, challenging their assessments based on research, as well as negotiate any abatement penalties.

· Special projects as assigned.

Job Knowledge:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.

· Intermediate Accounting knowledge

· Understanding of accounting principles

· Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word and the ability to build moderately complex spreadsheets

· Strong prioritization and time management skills

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Strong analytical and written skills

· Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment

Minimum experience required to perform this job:

1-2 years in Accounting or Finance environment, preferably Tax related

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
