Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health is hiring detail-oriented and compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) team members for our six-bed inpatient residential treatment centers. Personal Care Assistants are vital to providing support to our patients and are responsible for directing, supporting and encouraging clients to perform their activities of daily living and assisting them when needed. In addition, PCA's provide companionship with compassion and comfort to those who are lonely, frustrated, or scared.

**We have positions available on all shifts - AM/PM/NOC and operate on a 4/2 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for up to 6 patients.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADL's).
• Provides personal care assistance to patients as needed.
• Ensures that patients receive appropriate nutrition, including shopping for groceries, preparing meals, and, at times, assisting with feeding.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized environment, which may involve changing soiled sheets, cleaning up spills, setting up equipment, and reducing the spread of germs and infection in the patient’s living area.
• Elicits important information concerning the patient’s progress.
• Monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior or physical ailments to staff.
• Observes and influences patients' behavior in a positive manner.
• Pursues proper chain of command to attain a satisfactory solution.

Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health is a private, adult mental health treatment center in Fresno, CA. We offer residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of mental health care. Our team is passionate about helping those who are struggling to function at home, school/work, and in the community because of mental health challenges. We seek to create a safe environment where patients are able to connect, learn, and grow, so they can live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Our model is oriented around intensive group therapy where our patients learn skills, receive psychoeducation, and have an opportunity to process difficult emotional situations in a judgment-free space.

Patients at Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health receive empathy, compassion, and assistance with problem solving some of their struggles. We use evidence-based treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gestalt, and more to help restore health and functioning in those that are dealing with mental health conditions. Our patients are assigned an individual therapist to focus on individual goals throughout their stay in the program, as well as have the ability to meet with one of our case managers to tackle additional needs they may have. Most of our clients participate in the program for an average of 10-12 weeks.

• 1 year experience in mental health field desired
• Current CPR Certification
• Must present a professional demeanor
• Must have good interpersonal skills
• Must maintain a calm and reasonable attitude during crisis and conflict
• Must demonstrate initiative and good judgment
• Must respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations
• Must be able to set and revise priorities based on changes in the situation
• Furthers his/her education by attending staff meetings, continuing education classes and reading of current professional material
• Computer literacy in electronic medical records, Microsoft Office, and email required.
• Obtain a health clearance form from a medical provider.
• Obtain a negative tuberculosis screening.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Criminal Record Clearance required.
