Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for hardware, software, or network installation, which may include installing and upgrading hardware and software.
- Manage time and priorities to align with department needs.
- Analyze and resolve problems.
- Troubleshoot applications and issues with vulnerabilities.
- Monitor the operation of computer hardware or software for vulnerabilities.
- Develop or modify processes and procedures to solve complex operating system problems.
- Provide Tier 2 support to include assisting Tier I personnel in solving technical problems and investigates elevated issues by confirming the validity of the problem and seeks known solutions for more complex issues.
- Responsible for specialty support that may include Active Directory (AD), AD Group Policy Objects, latest Windows, Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, advanced support and setup of Microsoft Outlook.
- Associates degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent with at least one year of related experience.
- Strong background in vulnerability remediation on Windows required.
- Mac vulnerability remediation experience preferred.
- Exhibit strong end-to-end troubleshooting skills for system, network, and applications.
- Advanced computer skills with Windows Operations Systems, Active Directory, and ability to script and understand macros with software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and MS Outlook.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a professional, effective manner.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Personnel may be requested by leadership to work in excess of 40 hours per week due to projects, activities, and emergences; critical operational demands may occasionally require off-shift work.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Hourly range for this position is $21.58 - $32.37.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
