About the Job
The IT Field Technician holds a critical position that requires the ability to effectively multitask and handle multiple projects at the same time. In this role, you will employ a Customer First Focus while working to maintain and improve the company’s hardware, network, and other computing equipment with an emphasis on always ensuring the reliability and security of the system. Strong analytical skills are required as well as the ability to think creatively to find solutions for issues that arise.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of system installations and upgrades.
- Maintain and create technical documents and knowledge base information; documenting actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Perform onsite visits to install, upgrade, enhance, and maintain systems.
- Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade network hardware and wiring.
- Monitor the systems performance and undertake maintenance and upgrades as required.
- Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
- Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Work effectively and independently on multiple projects.
- Support existing and network cabling, security systems, POS systems, and various integral IT systems at locations.
Education/Skill/Experience:
- For entry level, field experience necessary.
- The candidate must enjoy supporting systems, industry certifications are a plus.
- Ability to travel to sites up to 75% (mostly within a 20-mile radius)- a few up to 60 miles away.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter and able to work independently without close supervision.
- Able to analyze issues and problems and know and follow escalation plan.
- Well organized, able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
- One Saturday per month.
