Job Summary
Oversees the ordering, storing, receiving and distributing processes of products and supplies. Controls the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory maintenance and developing protocols for loss mitigation.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 7AM-4PM with occasional Saturdays required.
- Exercise overall control of Company inventory of all sites.
- Interview potential vendors and select ones that best meet the needs of the Company.
- Oversee month end and annual inventory and order additional products and supplies when needed.
- Evaluate the selection and shipping process and work to improve efficiency.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and update inventory as needed.
- Negotiate vendor contracts to maximize profit.
- Oversee the shipping and receiving of warehouse transfers. This would include transfers from the Lakeville, MA, Gardiner, ME and Williston, VT to the Worcester location.
- Push inventory from main warehouse to outlying facilities based on demands, trends, and product seasonality. Work with the manufacturing team in Worcester to expedite product movements.
- Evaluate the shipping and receiving processes and work to improve efficiency.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and update inventory as needed.
- Responsible for any back orders for the Worcester location.
- Maintain purchase contracts.
- Responsible for daily bulk and package receiving, repacks and rebrands for oil, DEF and Nu-tier weekly rebrands, cycle counting, companywide stock checks, item maintenance, weight conversion, stock and non-stocked items, min/max updated quarterly.
- Identify and work with purchasing to minimize and move dead and slow inventory to maximize original investment and manage warehouse space.
- Responsible for physical inventories at all facilities in conjunction with Operations Managers. Execute cycle counting, monthly/quarterly, and annual inventories
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience in an inventory/purchasing role.
- Experience with an ERP system, including bar code scanning and warehouse bin location management.
- Experience controlling inventory and its movements in a multi-site operation strongly preferred.
- Experience with cycle counting, quarterly, full physical, and inventory audit methods required.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze and solve discrepancies.
- Great organizational skills.
Education & Experience
- 3-5 years in inventory management required.
- College degree in business administration, finance, operations, or supply chain required.
- Relative professional certificates in supply chain strongly preferred.
