Job Title: Canoe and Kayak Instructor at Red Oak Camp

Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Canoe and Kayak Instructor to lead our canoeing and kayaking program at Red Oak Camp. As the Canoe and Kayak Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching campers proper paddling techniques, water safety, and guiding them in exploring our beautiful lake. You will play a key role in fostering a love for water sports and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for campers.

Responsibilities:

• Teach campers proper canoeing and kayaking techniques
• Conduct lessons and guide campers in exploring the lake
• Ensure the safety of campers during all water activities
• Provide instruction on water safety, including proper use of personal flotation devices (PFDs)
• Maintain and organize canoe and kayak equipment
• Assist in planning and coordinating canoe and kayak trips

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a canoe and/or kayak instructor or related field is a plus
• Strong paddling skills and knowledge of canoeing and kayaking techniques
• Certification in water safety, lifeguarding, or equivalent is preferred
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to work well with children and ensure a positive and inclusive environment

Schedule:

• Full-time position during the camp season
• Schedule typically runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
• Additional responsibilities and activities as assigned

Eligibility:

• Open to applicants of all genders
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to pass background checks and obtain necessary certifications
• Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred
• First Aid and CPR certification is a plus
