Description:

Actalent is seeking an ICC special inspector with 3+ years of experience . Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company. Perform testing, inspection, and field observations during construction.

• Perform testing on materials including, soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, metal decking, roofing and asphalt paving
• Inspect and review construction sites for compliance
• Coordinate and interact with contractors in field
• Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents
• Coordinate with the department manager about progress of projects.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs to transport material samples, and move nuclear densimeter.
• Will be expected to carry nuclear densimeter (25lbs) short distances.
• ACI OR ICC OR CWI

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

3 years experience in construction inspection.

Experience with 1 of the following:

• Concrete testing or CWI wields
• Structural steel or reinforced concrete.
• OBOA certification or able to get it within a few months.
• Nuclear Density Gauge training and certification a plus
• Valid driver's license

Must have 1 of the following certificates:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI)
• Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
• Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.

OR ONE of the following ICC Certifications

• Reinforced Concrete
• Structural Masonry
• Pre-stressed/Post-tensioned Concrete
• Structural Steel Bolting
• Structural Steel Welding

OR one of the following

• AWS-CWI Welding with construction inspection experience A PLUS
• OBOA (Oregon Building Officials Association),
• WABO (WA Association of Building Officials),
• ODOT Certifications A PLUS
