Job Description: Responsible for performing inspections, tests and/or audits of purchased parts, units, materials, equipment, panel/module level assemblies and quality control programs to specifications. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, test setups, or systems for in process or final assemblies. Inspects defective or malfunctioning units or systems for rework. Maintains support documentation and performs sampling and testing of incoming components, raw materials, and build of assemblies. Reviews and reports performance data. Ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company and test standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. May interface with customer quality representatives or suppliers. This role will provide quality inspection support to programs as they ramp-up hardware production and support test activities. Inspection support includes CCAs, modules, chassis level inspection as well as test readiness activities and test monitoring.

Essential Functions:

• Inspect mechanical and electrical hardware to determine acceptance or rejection
• Verification of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing against engineering drawings
• Utilize measurement devices tools such as Calipers, Height Gauge, Optical Comparator, micrometers, scales, and dimensional measurement systems
• Utilize surface plates, precision measuring tools, gauges (blocks) and other mechanical inspection tools/tooling
• Document non-conformances and take photos of discrepancies
• Visual inspections of hardware using microscopes and magnifying lens
• Review Supplier documentation for adherence to Quality Clauses and Drawing Notes
• Experience in component test environment such as Temperature / Altitude test chamber and test equipment inspection/validation
• Support in evaluating First Article Inspection reports, CMM reports, material certs
• Inspect per IPC, ESD, Solder, CCA inspection, module, and chassis level inspection experience.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Experience interpreting 2-D drawings and knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience in mechanical inspections utilizing inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, surface plate, electronic and mechanical height gages, pin gages, comparator)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Certified to IPC-A-600
• Certified to IPC-A-610
• Certified to IPC/WHMA-A-620

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Experience using an XRF instrument
