The IT Service Technician is a technical position within the IT organization. This position is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of hardware and software systems, along with handling incoming technical support calls and tickets. Working as part of the IT team on the technical service desk, this individual will play a key role in the delivery of high quality technical support and exceptional customer satisfaction.
The position reports directly to the IT Site Operations Manager. The incumbent is required to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is a customer facing role that interacts with people at every level of the organization and not only provides service but contributes to continual development and project implementations to improve the IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
  • Required to perform IT Service Desk functions such as troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolving issues with PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, AV equipment, Citrix, Active Directory, etc.
  • Taking ownership of incidents and requests resolving them to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Providing exceptional communication between the service desk and end users on the status of incident resolution
  • Effective ticket management and tracking using the IT Service Desk
  • Utilizing remote access tools when necessary
  • Procurement, upgrade and maintenance of IT equipment
  • Create, manage and implement internal documentation, reports and standard practices
  • Back-up and restore of end user data
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of IT Infrastructure projects
  • Identify and mitigate potential areas of risk
  • Data Center support
  • DNS Support
  • Virtual environment administration
  • Training users in best practice usage of IT in line with documentation and procedures
  • Ability to travel to Unifrax facilities as needed for additional support. Can include International locations.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed):
  • Bachelors I Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experiences in IT support functions.
  • 5+ years Technical Support experience. WAN/LAN and general networking concepts
  • Knowledge of network and client troubleshooting tools
    Technical skills in a Microsoft-based environment (Active directory and Windows)
  • Strong technical skills relating to mobile device platforms
  • Antivirus Management and Support
  • Knowledge of VPN client support
  • Understanding of back-up and restore technology
  • Technical skill troubleshooting client wireless access
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members and external partners.
