The Starcon maintenance team at our Bedford Park, Illinois location is expanding! We are looking to add experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanics with a minimum of 2 years’ mechanical experience in manufacturing, Petro-chemical industry, or related field preferred.

• No travel or per diem
• Candidates must be local to the Chicagoland area

Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper permits have been obtained.
• Repair and maintenance of, but not limited to, pumps, motors, conveyors, industrial machinery in a manufacturing plant.
• Assembly and disassembly of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, etc.
• Isolation of equipment (blinding, LOTO, etc.)
• Responsible for the disassembly and assembly of unit equipment
• Willing to learn precision alignment of couplings, belts, and shives
• Not only works well as part of a team but promotes team values for others.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and maintains housekeeping of job site.
• Returns all tools and materials used by the crew to the proper place at the end of shift.
• Must be willing to contribute to the development of other team members, including on the job training for A-Mechanic Apprentices, B-Mechanics, B-Mechanic Apprentices and Laborers.
• Must fully participate in the safety assessment of the job and completion of JSA’s.
• Fully participate in health, safety, quality, and environmental processes.
• Is an ambassador for STARCON to the client, other contractors, and the public.

Qualification Guidelines:

• Must be willing to attend continued training applicable to job as deemed necessary by STARCON.
• Must pass Starcon craft test or be NCCER certified

Physical:

• Must be willing to comply with STARCON’s drug, alcohol, and background policy.
• May be required to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by STARCON.
• Must be able to climb ladders and stairways.
• Must be able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials.
• Must be able to work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces. (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
• Must be able to work extended hour on your feet on uneven surfaces. (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
• Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.

Work Environment:

The normal work environment will be in a facility where there is frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and where proper PPE is required for a variety of potential hazards.

Pay: $26.48 - $36.98 per hour
