Job description
Job Summary:
Responsible for spraying different types of paint on various parts while maintaining close tolerances and specifications without compromising quality and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acquire the specified paint from the inventory.
- Prepare the paint by mixing the appropriate thinner to achieve the required spraying viscosity.
- Mix two-part urethane paint and reducer for better results.
- Spray the parts with the paint according to the set specifications.
- Inspect the parts to ensure compliance with customer's standards.
- Collect the excess paint in the waste paint container located beside the spraying booth. This will be handled by the material handler as hazardous waste.
- Clean the gun with solvent and store the used solvent in the second container beside the booth also for collection as hazardous waste by the material handler.
- Attend to spills of hazardous waste immediately with absorbent material. Follow the hazardous waste procedures and handle hazardous waste with utmost care.
- Replace filters and clean spray booth as required.
- Perform housekeeping duties and move materials to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Skills:
- Possess good eye/hand coordination, finger dexterity, and color sensitivity
- Display effective communication skills to interact with fellow workers and supervisors.
- Follow work instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Work in a manner that promotes safety and environmental protection.
- Demonstrate dependability in all aspects of the job.
Experience:
- Two years of experience in industrial spray painting or equivalent.
