Position Details
The Senior HR Advisor is the expert for situations related to driving the team member experience, leadership philosophies, and company culture within assigned business groups. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, working remotely or virtually, the Senior HR Advisor works with HR leaders and business groups to create proactive solutions through people. It focuses on applying people data/analytics from engagement/ new hire/ exit surveys; ethics and employee relations cases to predict trends, influence people strategies, and form unbiased points of view.
The Senior HR Advisor provides valued strategic consulting guidance through ownership of standard global employee relations processes helping the team member experience and is the primary contact for line level leaders, senior leaders and team members across the enterprise. You will function as an expert and will coach local team member, leaders, and HR teams through deployment and adoption of best practices in these specific global processes. You will ensure standards of excellence in deliverables, interactions and outcomes. #LI-Remote
This position is salaried and will pay between $90,780.00 - $139,740.00 and will include a annual cash bonus of 10%. The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to a candidates experience, qualifications, geography, and internal equity.
You Will
- Be the first point of escalation for the HR Advisory team to navigate complex situations, understand nuances of specific policies and programs, and provide in the moment feedback on an HR Advisor’s performance, also sharing feedback with the Sr. Manager
- Provide daily operational support for the HR Advisory team, in partnership with Sr. Manager and work to improve global processes and lead consistency in policy execution across the enterprise.
- Conduct HR Advisory team assessments and check-ins.
- Ensure understanding of goals and development plans.
- Provide supplementary support to any team member on escalated employee relations issues and manage any executive level escalations from start to finish.
- Share value added in-the-moment coaching, feedback and development for team members at all levels.
- Review established set of team member experience success measures for departments of responsibility to reduce variation in the team member experience, ensure minimal risk and exposure to the company and create continuous improvement to processes.
- Operate as a global COE with ownership over one of the following processes: performance improvement, investigations, team member experience assessment, and policy development/interpretation and ethics hotline responses for Grainger
- Consult, counsel and teach partners ways of resolving team member issues that are supported by our policies, mitigate risk and achieve optimum team member experience.
- Create partnership with the employment legal team to guide an environment of positive employee relations.
- Lead and monitor progress on main projects to guide team member experience or improve internal processes within the HR Advisory team.
You Have
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 5+ years progressive leadership in human resource management or comparable area; specific expertise in employee relations required
- PHR/GPHR certification.
- Experience in consulting, providing recommendations to corporate and field clients, experience consulting for performance management/improvement
- Experience in measurement/ analytics (data collection, analysis and interpretation) to support fact-based, predictive decision-making
- Influence without direct authority to manage the needs of multiple variable team members
