SUMMARY OF CAREGIVER POSITION

North Chandler Place is seeking a compassionate, caring and kind FT, PT and PRN Home Caregiver. We strive to provide care to our residents that exceeds industry standards and we are looking for a Home Caregiver that wants to join that mission!

As a Home Caregiver you will get to interact directly with residents, provide comfort, monitor vital signs, assist with daily living needs and some routine nursing care.

A CNA certification is not required and NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY to become a Home Caregiver with us. On the job training will be provided. This is your chance to launch a satisfying and exciting career in the stable and growing healthcare industry!

As a Home Caregiver, you may also participate in our Career Step program and receive education assistance to advance your career toward positions with more responsibility, skill, and compensation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, may assist in feeding residents as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning residents; provides fresh water and serves between meal and bedtime snacks.
  • May provide residents with quality personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
  • Maintains resident stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; monitoring glucose, recording intake and output information.
  • Observes any changes in resident physical or mental status and communicates to the Independent Living Manager and/or Home Care Services Supervisor.
  • Provides laundry and housekeeping services to residents, as assigned.
  • Provides resident comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Assists with resident activity programs as assigned.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and some that may have memory loss.
  • Consistently demonstrates a pleasant demeanor, tone of voice, supports the philosophy and approach to care used by the Community.
  • Ability to multitask and willingness to learn.
  • Keeps resident information confidential; respects resident’s rights, respects privacy and right to self-determination of residents.
  • Capable of working flexible hours and overtime; alternate shifts as needed. This position may require work on evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Comes to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior Caregiver experience preferred, but not required. On the job training is available!
