Job description

Under the direction of the Home Care Coordinator, the Part-Time Home Care Assistant is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living and personal care that helps people remain safely and independently in their home. Home Care Assistants must be compassionate in working with older adults.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with older adults, or past caregiver or home care experience preferred. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is a must. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

This non-exempt position is 24 hours per week with a pay rate of $17.00 per hour. The hours will typically be between Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. In addition to compensation, part-time employees are eligible to receive pro-rated holiday pay, participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), flexible work schedule, access to Hanover Township’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP), as well as training provided by Hanover Township.
