Job Description

Lebanon Christian Schools is seeking full-time Secondary English teacher (grades 7-12) for this coming school year. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, personable, energetic individual who relates well to students, families, and employees. Prior experience teaching adolescence to young adult students is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to foster the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.

General Responsibilities

As a professional educator in Lebanon Christian Schools, the principal assigns specific tasks essential to the function of the position. Generally, the teacher will:

  • know, teach and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives and policies and procedures of the school
  • maintain Ohio State Teaching License
  • communicate regularly with parents/guardians, colleagues, and principal
  • participate in the school-sponsored professional development programs
  • perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal
  • attend required faculty and staff meetings
  • cooperate with the principal and staff members in school-related meetings, activities, and projects
  • maintain accurate student attendance and academic records
  • maintain a safe, orderly and secure learning and working environment
  • maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current Ohio licensure (Adolescence to Young Adult - grades 7-12)
  • Two to Three years related experience (preferred)
  • Motivated self-starter with teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Must have an interest and desire to quickly learn and integrate new tools and technologies
  • Must be willing to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks at the same time and make rapid, yet proper, decisions.
  • Acceptable BCI report and FBI report
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal or Director of Administration may find appropriate.

Additional Working Conditions :

  • Frequent interaction with children
  • Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb and stoop
  • Occasional requirement to lift, carry push and pull various items up to a maximum of 40 pounds to a maximum of 100 pounds on wheels, e.g., copier, tables
  • Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather conditions, i.e., being prepared to come to work on all work days
  • Potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue
  • Occasional exposure to loud noises
