The HDD Company is currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician based in our new shop just outside of Phoenix, in Casa Grande, Arizona starting in January 2023. You are an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic who takes pride providing safe and cost-effective maintenance on heavy mobile equipment. You are a driven individual, who continuously looks for opportunities to learn and grow. This is a collaborative team environment and requires an individual who is a team player and self-driven.
You will:
- Schedule and provide preventative maintenance on equipment as required
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on Equipment including, but not limited to trucks, trailers, drilling rigs, pumps, mud tanks, and generators.
- Conducts pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and completes daily field level hazard assessments for all activities
- Complete maintenance reporting and other documentation as required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
- Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures
Requirements: Experience and Training Requirements:
- Minimum two years of experience as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic or diesel mechanic
- Experience with heavy equipment is required
- Must have computer skills to access equipment faults
- Ability to troubleshoot engine, transmission & hydraulic issues
- Ability to communicate equipment problems to supervisors
- Commercial Drivers license for the purposes of moving equipment
- Valid photo identification
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time across the US
Asset (ideally we'd love it if you brought these to the table)
- You have Department of transportation certification
- Experience working both in the field and in the shop repairing and maintaining heavy equipment.
- Experience working with equipment that is used in construction or oilfield industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations
- Experienced in MS Office Suite and intermediate to advanced skills in working with various diagnostic equipment and software
- Ability to be organized, prioritize tasks, and manage changing priorities and processes
- Strong analytical, accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong proven ability to creatively solve problems
