Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership, in conjunction with South Sioux City Community Schools has an exciting opportunityfor a SIXPENCE ADVOCATEthrough our Healthy Families Program. Work location willbe at the South Sioux City Community Schools. 40 hours per week M-F. Hourly wage plus benefits. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus. Advocate responsible for facilitation of case management including health and parenting education to home visitation. Will be working with pregnant women and parents of young children and provide referrals and advocate for the client by assisting in the coordination of services. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in parent education, family services, human services counseling, home visits and knowledge of infant and child development a plus. Must meet Agency auto insurance standards.

JOB SUMMARY: The Healthy Families Sixpence Advocate will initiate and maintain regular contact with families, primarily in their homes, establishing trusting relationships. Provide prenatal and other health education and assist to strengthen parent-child relationships. Follow Sixpence targeted population for enrollment. Maintain good communication and relations between NENCAP Healthy Families and school district. Follow Nebraska Early Learning guidelines and attend training sessions as required. Locate educational information and develop and complete outreach activities. Complete reporting requirements and assist with grants as required. Assist with assessments, surveys and compilation of data and evaluation of activities. Update forms and brochures and keep track of program contacts and client information. Loading and unpacking supplies and files, approximately 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of all participant client information and follow Program and Agency standards, policies, and procedures.

EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in parent education, family support, human services counseling, and knowledge of infant and child development, or similar. Experience with outreach, case management and/or public health education, human services, home visits, or skills in early childhood development or early childhood mental health is preferred.

WAGE & BENEFITS: Wage starting at $20.00 per, plus benefits. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance. Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave, EAP, 401K Retirement.
