Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for Wellness Center pool and spa operation, works with outside contractors for maintenance service and repairs, organizes and maintains a program for the prevention of industrial and motor vehicle accidents within the agency, responsible for scheduling bio-hazard waste disposal, responsible for scheduling digs with OKIE, responsible for elevator compliance and inspections, responsible for fire alarm systems in compliance with all applicable State and Federal laws, prepares and revises safety rules for the operation of equipment, and for classes of work such as construction, maintenance, and other work where safety hazards exist, inspects facilities and works toward determining where hazards exist, advising on-site corrections of flagrant safety violations and hazardous conditions, works with data processing personnel and CompSource Oklahoma to obtain coordinated use of data processing equipment and information for access and retrieval of statistical information concerning workers compensation, injuries, and cost, promotes the adoption by agency management of new policies and programs directed toward lowering accident frequency and severity, studies publications, surveys and programs of other organizations, examines and evaluates new safety devices and equipment, assists in supervision of BJCC work crews, attends regional or national safety conferences, and institutes changes in the safety program to lower accident frequency or severity, required to do heavy lifting, which may exceed 100 pounds, performs related work required as well as other general maintenance work assigned, assists in emergency situations as called upon.
Qualifications: Must reside in the town of Alva, Oklahoma, skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, ability to analyze situations and formulate effective course of action, ability to detect hazards and recommend remedial action, skill in expressing ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, personal characteristics should include integrity, loyalty, leadership, empathy, stability, and maturity.
