Job description
Reporting to the Vice President for Quality and Safety for Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS) and the JHM Chief Diversity Officer, The Health Equity Program Director will coordinate and strengthen the health system’s efforts to identify and address health and health care inequities to prepare the organization to meet external health equity reporting requirements and to be adherent to the National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards (CLAS) to promote health equity of marginalized groups. The position will partner with the JHHS Vice President for Patient Safety and Quality in the Armstrong Institute and the Health Equity Program Manager in the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Health Equity (ODIHE) to support the JHHS’s and entity hospitals’ sociodemographic stratification of quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical outcome data to identify health disparities to target for programmatic intervention (consistent with emerging external health equity metric reporting requirements). Using a data-driven approach, this position will also partner with the ODIHE Business Intelligence Developer and AI Clinical Analytics to provide strategic oversight of a system-wide health equity dashboard. Based on health disparities identified, this position will work strategically and collaboratively with ODIHE, the Armstrong Institute, the Office of Population Health and entity Presidents to annually identify 1-2 health disparities and interventions that will aim to improve patient outcomes.
Education:
Doctorate degree required (e.g. MD, NP, PhD). Master’s degree in health policy, community health, public health, social work or related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum five years of progressive responsibility and experience directly related to health equity based public health initiatives, healthcare, and policy, systems and environmental strategies.
