ProMedica Toledo Hospital is one of the largest acute-care facilities in the region. The Hazardous Waste Transporter is responsible for removing and transporting hazardous and infectious waste in accordance with state and federal regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the hospital complex.

  Requires attention to detail, ability to follow written and verbal directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 
  Must be able to move about readily, stand and walk for long periods of time
• 
  Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquires in order to perform assigned duties
• 
  Must understand the importance of disposing of hazardous and infectious wastes in accordance with state and federal regulations
• 
  Required to operate compactor, trash and flat carts mops, brooms, hoses, utility knives
• 
  Must be able to be subject to unpleasant odors and possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids, must be able to tolerate exposure to dust chemicals, and sewage
• 
  Must be able to move and/or lift materials weighing up to 10 lbs, 50% of the time; lift equipment weighing up to 100 pounds 10 % of the time and move carts weighing up to 275 pounds 45% of the time
